SmartEdApp works only on the iPad.
It will work on any iPad that is running on iOS 8.0 and above. We recommend all users to make an OS update from iTunes before installing SmartEdApp. To check the OS version on your iPad go to Settings>General>About>Version.

SmartEdApp contains a number of flashcard activities, but no apps. We have a semantics problem when the word activities is used both for the flashcards and worksheets.
The SmartEdApp activities are designed to support specific standards and skills for special education. These activity sheets target key areas such as articulation, language, reading, social skills, math, motor skills etc.
Yes, all the activity reports in the SmartEdApp can be viewed in the customer portal. This report enables teachers, therapists and parents to track the student performance on a day-to-day basis.
The SmartEdApp activities are mapped to the Common Core and other State Standards and can be mapped to IEP’s.

When you install SmartEdApp, a new icon will be added to your suit of apps already existing on your iPad.
When you tap the SmartEdApp icon for the first time, a registration page opens. You may select one of three options.
After selecting your registration option, the login page opens.
A Registered user or Licensed user enters his/her unique password.
In SmartEdApp home page, you will see a library of activities listed under various categories. These activities are designed for children ages 1-8.
A Guest user can access only 1 activity in the SmartEdApp.
A Registered user can access 7 activities in the SmartEdApp.
A Licensed user can access all the activities on the SmartEdApp. A licensed user is allowed to create players, share views, hide/unhide, and lock/unlock the players on his or her SmartEdApp.
To access all the activities a Guest user/ Registered user need to purchase the license and switch to a Licensed user. To do that, go to http://smartedtech.com/SmartEdApp.
Using the filter option on SmartEdApp you can select the age group and filter the apps accordingly.
Yes, the SmartEdApp is an effective solution to customize the activities as needed. The settings option in the SmartEdApp allows you to filter the activities according to age, category and Common Core Standards.
Yes, a licensed user can create as many players as needed on his or her registered iPad. The same license, however, cannot be used to on multiple tablets.
Yes, the SmartEdApp allows you to change the player image. When you press on the existing image, you will have options to change the existing image.

Purchasers have a one year manufacturer’s warranty for hardware failure in the SmartEdPad device. Please note that if the screen is damaged or the device is broken, it is not covered under the current terms of warranty. You can have full coverage included at a small incremental cost of $99/year per device.
The SmartEdPad is considered an AAC tool and could be eligible for funding. We recommend you check with the funding source to verify the SmartEdPad’s eligibility before purchasing it.
After the first year, all purchasers are eligible to continue the SmartEdPad platform upgrades, support and services for a low-cost annual fee. New activities and new software capabilities will be added regularly. Instead of being billed for each new option, the subscription service guarantees that you will receive updates immediately and automatically.
SmartEdApp, a separate iOS product, works on the iPad. It has the same features, functions, and SmartEdTech activities, but does not offer 3rd party apps.
In addition to the tablet and activities, the SmartEdPad has proprietary software that allows a therapist, teacher or parent to design a specific learning environment for a student, track his/her progress and communicate with other members of the care team.
All students love to work on tablets, and special needs students especially enjoy them. Using a simple checkbox search, users can select and display only the apps appropriate for a specific student (or group of students) on the tablet’s screen. Yes, provided you have enough memory on the device. As with most tablets, you can add memory to the SmartEdPad.
Yes, you can continue to use most activities after the full subscription period is over. Some features of SmartEdPad such as continuous upgrade, release of new apps, technical support and maintenance will not be available. Please refer to the most recent subscription and fair access policy for more details.
SmartEdPad is a secure platform. Since student data is accessed through a device, keeping the data secure and allowing for the removal of student records from the device if it gets stolen or lost is of paramount importance. SmartEdPad stores all data in Amazon Cloud which is COPPA compliant. We also use GoDaddy SSL.
If you recommend an app, we will ask our panel of experts to review it. If we believe that most SmartEdPad users will benefit from that app, we will contact the publisher to discuss adding it to the SmartEdPad. We guarantee you that all app requests will be addressed, but we cannot guarantee that all requests will be included in the SmartEdPad.

A blinking triangle within the software menu alerts you that you have a message. The message will give you complete instructions for downloading and accessing the updates.
