Users Explain How They Use SmartEdTech and What Improvements They Would Like to See

SmartEdTech surveyed a cross-section of educators and therapists who use the app with special needs students on iOS and/or Android platforms.

“We are releasing a new version of SmartEdTech in time for Back-to-School,” reported Pradeesh Thomas, CEO of SmartEdTech, “and the survey verified that our update reflects what educators want and need.”

Some results are:

  • Educators use the app as a primary teaching tool, but a few also use it as a reward.  “Students are interested” and “It works well as reinforcement” commented two users.
  • The app offers activities for developmental ages 2-17. Although teachers use the app for all ages, its primary use among the respondents is with students 5-10. Not surprisingly, educators requested more activities for that age group.
  • Although all skills are targeted by specialists, the most used are activities that develop articulation, social skills, reasoning and vocabulary development. Users asked for more “group-friendly” activities.
  • Educators use the support materials provided by SmartEdTech, particularly the training videos and user manual, and the teaching suggestions on the Website. One user wrote, “The best part is the support when learning each new process in the delivery of the curriculum.”

Watch for an announcement of the new SmartEdTech release, and its additions and improvements soon!

My son John was diagnosed with ASD at 3 years old. I was a single mother, disabled myself, raising him. He was nonverbal until about 5 years old; with constant work at school and with me at home, he's now considered a high functioning ASD. With help from your device, he can read at kindergarten level, his hand-eye coordination has improved, he's more social, and he knows how to make and keep friends.
